What a great weekend! A huge thanks to everyone who came out!! We picked a good amount of Reka, and are moving through the ripening Bluegolds and Hardyblue. We had really great weather and a steady stream of wonderful pickers. I just can’t express how much I enjoy getting to talk to everyone and sharing the farm with them. Everyone knows how much I love to geek out on blueberries, canning, and our life here on the lil’ homestead!
A couple of updates: we are still picking Rekas, they are super super sweet right now and sized perfectly for baking. The Bluegolds and the Hardyblues are coming on strong, and I am always shocked at how much fruit there is out there waiting for the sun to bring them up. We picked our first flush of Legacy in the lower field, and although I know I say this every time we get a new variety on, I think they’re my favorite right now. We won’t open that field for picking until later in the week, Wednesday at the very earliest, but likely not until Saturday. I want to make sure they’re good and ripe.
We also are accepting credit cards now! Welcome to the age of technology!! Yay! So now we can do cash, cards, and checks with ID. We will also strive to have picked flats and half flats available for sale, but its always good to call ahead!
